Aldi Product Review - Effervescent Vitamin Tablets

I think these are like a berocca equivalent ...... this tropical flavour is delicious ........ at the moment I am having one of these every morning because it does make me feel like I have a bit more energy (even if it's just psychological ... lol) .... they cost $4.99 for 15 tablets .... my one criticism is they are made with fake sugar and I would prefer real as fake is really bad for you!!!

  1. Hello Aldi Mum,
I too like the Aldi Multivitamin Effervescent Tablets (Energise)but of late have had difficulty getting these. I can see plenty of the Vitamin C, but not the multivitamin. I wonder if Aldi have stopped supplying these. Are you having the same difficulty?
    Aldi Fan.

  2. What do you mean by the term "fake sugar"? The brand called Benifex are no longer available here north of Sydney in Australia... They were my absolute favourites, which have been replaced by another packaging called "Essential Health", that don't work the same. I am really peed off about it. Aldi don't listen to consumers any more than Woolworths and Coles.

  3. ..and what is this nonsense about "even if it's just psychological". This recent poisonous PR about vitamins over the last 20 years, being nonsense is a bit annoying. Yes it is true that MANY vitamins "don't work" because they are rubbish. A vitamin is a vitamin. If it is properly sourced and "preserved", it is a catalyst and "works".... The "multivitamins" in the main are clever marketing junk that give vitamins a bad name. Learn what a vitamin does and take what you need. Who the hell can rely on food quality these days. A good Multivitamin is rare, but if you find one, please let me know.

    1. diarbe, your comments are fair enough. The Aldo tablets contain Aspartame as an artificial sweetener (as do Berocca). Not good, and should be avoided.
For my money the best Multivitamin going around is Swiss Ultivite.

    2. If it contains real sugar, then diabetics cannot use it.

  5. Dear Ozwalker, Nice Response. Remember there are huge numbers of different Aldo vitamins and I am not sure about many of them. However, my comments were about the earlier packed in a tube and dissolve in a glass of water or drink vitamin of the Benifex brand which had a very positive effect for me, and that since the replacement of that tubed product came out I lost interest altogether. Recently I tried the current offering a orange flavoured one and was surprised I felt it gave me the lift I was hoping for that day but I am pretty lazy and haven't kept taking them. This topic I am reading on this page will encourage me to try it out for the rest of he tablets in this tube and see how I feel at the end of the week or so...

I was not aware that Aspartame was used in Benifex and the later brands and I usually notice a product has it if it does. I will have to confirm your observation for myself.... I am sympathetic about diabetics needs however I think a product should not be sugar excluded and Aspartame included or the other way around unless the product is aiming to please one or another type of consumer. For me I am not sure if the presence of sweetness changes whether I would use a particular dissolvable vitamin or not, but the inclusion of sugar I would probably enjoy more as the amount of sugar in a tablet would not be a problem for me in particular. Bringing in the "argument" about diabetics' needs into the discussion makes it more complex and my focus was more on the workability and genuine nature of the vitamins themselves.

I didn't know Barocca has Aspartame. They don't do much for me personally anyway but the orange flavoured ones I can accept though I am not pleased by the price except when Coles gives a good deal on a bulk purchase sometimes, bring the price down to match the Aldi ones. Perhaps the Aldi ones were getting sparse because, as I predicted, consumers found they weren't working as good as they used to. The recent ones I bought (to give them another chance) seemed to be improved again. As I am 68, my personal observations might be a bit subjective. LOL

I will have to check out the Swiss Ultivite. Thanks for the tip.
The one thing I notice about taking vitamins is they don't replace sleeping poorly. Good sleep seems to utilise a vitamin taking "habit" more noticeably.

  6. Thanks Adli Mum for giving me the time of day to "have a chat"... as I am called LOL. I too am a real Aldi fan, so it is good that someone has thought to have a forum to celebrate one of our favourite shops.
